Ice Castles...

Just a hop, skip, and ride away, I venture off to the "Live Free and Die" State, sounds like something out of Sir Paul's Wings years, but neighboring New Hampshire was beautiful indeed. Not a bad ride leaving the "Dirgio" State, or Maine as it is know with windy back roads and beautiful scenery that took me through the White Mountain Nation Park to a small town of North Woodstock to see the Ice Castles exhibit! Ah, the event was sold out, good thing, I bought my ticket when I saw some article from the Boston Globe floating around Facebook, advertising the event. Those FB ads can get you sometimes, but this one proved to be an adventure for sure. AH, the White Mountains were beautiful to drive through. I enjoyed the Ice Castles and felt like a kid going down the ice slide, good thing I wore my North Face Gore Text mountain pants, an oldie but goody for the winter mountains or when I'm in freezing climates (they did come in handy down in Antartica). The Ice Castle was bigger than last year, but I thought it would be much bigger. Still a fun little outing for sure. Sometimes you just need a day trip to reclaim your power back. Side note, there's a fabulous natural food store/cafe in North Conway called, The Local Grocer. I could had spent hours in this place, a charming find, thanks to my sisters recommendation!
