The Drake...

“Got out of town on a boat
Goin' to Southern islands.
Sailing a reach
Before a followin' sea.”

The Drake
Sail away with me now….ready set go to the White Continent. As I unwind in my private cabin on the Explorer where I caught a good night rest while sailing in the Northern Drake Passage overnight.  I can’t complain about the upgrade to the posh stylish cabin I got with a telly playing documentaries from the BBC & National Geographic.  As a crewmember on the Sea Bird/Sea Lion you do not get the guest cabins luxuries. So this is quite nice. Oh, don’t I love you, it’s great as background noise when you’re editing. It’s been quite the adventure. It’s nice to see so many familiar faces too for me, since I got a few friends on board.
Well, it’s basically a positing day in the Drake.  Let’s just say that my sea legs are slowly coming back to me.  However, my cabin is located in the bow & it kind of reminds me of being back in Baja. I’m not too used to the rockin’ roller coaster, it’s been a while for me being back home at sea.  Basically it’s an introduction day with the staff, a lecture &. the photo instructors having a hands on camera session to get the most out of your camera & photography.  I’m happy to see that there’s a sauna on board too.  It’s off to the lost land of the south.
Headed towards 60 degrees south latitude Antarctica bound. Whales, oh I love you!!! I’m looking forward to seeing you again. I’m looking forward to seeing the Penguins too! I’m off on an expedition…
