Sunset Relections
Often times we get into the habitual minds trap of constant worrying and cravings on how are we going to pay our bills, make our impact onto others and the world, am I good enough, do I belong, how come I don't have x amount of money like so and so and so forth. You get my drift it's this. We tend to forget to inhale the beauty of the moment cos that is real the true beauty arises! Sunsets remind us that every day is a blessing! It's time to give thanks to the blessings of the day and know that we can start brand new when we wake up on the following day! Really, every day and every moment of each day is a day for us to start over again! Maybe taking that path of letting go and listing to the treasures that stillness has for us is where we actually let grace and abundance to flow freely! When we are less reactive to the pressures of the exterior world we struggle and continue to struggle to find solutions from others. What if we were less reactive to our struggles and let go of our inner resistance and the resistances of others (family, society, beliefs that no longer serve us, expectations, the news, TV programs, etc)find the gifts in our problems. When we allow the gifts from our problems to shine it challenges us to open a new door, not the same door that we are banging on with 'Hello, let me in' but a new one with infinite possibilities ahead. Gratitude, calmness and stillness with new dreams allow the Universe to reveal its true beauty to ourselves! Go within, to seek out the blessings!
Imagine a world where we actually created good for everyone, praise them for their accomplishments and help build communities that thrive rather than sitting around and bitching on how much the other person has for money, if we paid into our pensions/Social Security and " the system" that we can get x amount back and not seeing the beauty of the moment, but can worry about if we are first off of a plane, to name a few of the things we worry about! Isn't it time to let go of what our habitual mind says and to focus on how beautiful this moment is and play it forward with the blessings to create an abundant rich life? Time to raise your own standard and fly, don't let the mundane beliefs of others get you down! Come on world wake up and take responsibility for your actions! Stop resisting and just go with the flow! Namaste
"Learning to Trust Again
Many of us have trust issues.
Some of us tried long and hard to trust untrustworthy people. Over and again, we believed lies and promises never to be kept. Some us tried to trust people for the impossible; for instance, trusting a practicing alcoholic not to drink again.
Some of us were taught that life couldn't be trusted, that we had to control and manipulate our way through.
Most of us were taught, inappropriately, that we couldn't trust ourselves.
In recovery, we're healing from our trust issues. We're learning to trust again. The first lesson in trust is this: We can learn to trust ourselves. We can be trusted. If others have taught us we cannot trust ourselves, they were lying. Addictions and dysfunctional systems make people lie.
We can learn to appropriately trust our Higher Power-not to make people do what we want them to do, but to help us take care of ourselves, and to bring about the best possible circumstances, at the best possible times, in our life.
We can trust the process-of life and recovery. We do not have to control, obsess, or become hypervigilant. We may not always understand where we are going, or what's being worked out in us, but we can trust that something good is happening.
When we learn to do this, we are ready to learn to trust other people. When we trust our Higher Power and when we trust ourselves, we will know who to trust and what to trust that person for.
Perhaps we always did. We just didn't listen closely enough to ourselves to trust what we heard.
Today, I will affirm that I can learn to trust appropriately. I can trust myself, my Higher Power, and recovery. I can learn to appropriately trust others too."
