This morning, I went with my dad to Portland to go do a few errands in the Old Port. I noticed that there's some good things down there.
Harbor Fish Market at Custom House Warf is an awesome place to go get your local Maine seafood, definitely pay attention cos they do label their products "Wild Caught" or "Farmed Raised Organic" in there & everything fresh is on ice, except for the lobsters cos they are in a tank. In this day in age, it's wise to be seafood cautious. The Monterey Bay Aquarium has an awesome link for seafood these days:
Seafood Watch, be sure to check it out if you have any questions. Also, I stumbled into the Rosemont Produce Company, 5 Commercial Street, Portland, Maine for produce. It's part of the larger Rosemont Market & Bakery:
Rosemont Market. I enjoyed the vibe in there with all the fresh farmed produced. Maine broccoli was a bargain at $1.98 a pound. It was very clean too & heaps of wonderful things to choose from. Overall, walking along Commercial Street has many choices to inspire your culinary groove.
