Farm to Table

Beans & Peppers as a Starter
Nested in the Maine woods not too far into the heart of Kennebunkport, you could easily say that you were flown to the moon, but instead you are at Earth.  Earth at Hidden Pond is quite the charming Organic Inspired Al Fresco Restaurant with the farm to table inspired cuisine.  The menu is inspired with the local ingredients within a 50 mile radius from the restaurant. The entries are inspired from the coast, handmade pastas & wood oven pizza, & not to forget the local meat & poultry.  I quite enjoyed the wood oven green beans with chili lime sauce & African blue basil & the famous shishito peppers with sea salt & lemon, mind you that 1 in 10 are acutally hot.  I didn't get a hot one this evening. I've have had the local seafood paella with summer squash & farm beans on my last 2 visits to Earth, but I did change it up this evening with the matagliati with crab, nepitella, calabrian chili, & sea urchin.  Yes, I did eat sea urchin, not the kind that you actually get with sushi rolls, but the real inside this evening. The service was exceptional. Not to forget that again, I actually sat in the Potting Shed, which at no extra charge to your reservation at Earth you do get the opportunity to sit in it if you are kind enough to request it.  My sister was the brainchild to actually have found the "Potting Shed", last year,  that is lit in candlelight & they only have two reservations for the evening in the charming shed. A charming candle light evening over looking a pond & not to forget a fire pit in the distance by the pool.  Earth is highly recommended. Don't forget to order desert, I had the chocolate ganache cake, I do love my chocolate tho, especially well made stuff & organic too.  It's a new must go to in the Kennebunks for a lovely evening out!
