Daily Reminders

I get some daily reminders in my "in box" to help me to be more present. Well, in a way they remind me of the 'Daily Devotion' skits from SNL back in the 90's. I hope that in away a message that I need to hear from Spirit gets trigger in me. Lately the messages that I have received from a mindful site called http://brahmakumaris.org/ have been grabbing my attention. Some of the beautiful reminders have been:

True Peace

True peace can be experienced only when we stop giving and taking sorrow. In order not to give sorrow we need a clear heart that has no ill feelings and for not taking sorrow we need a big heart that can tolerate and help other souls to get over their weaknesses.

Eye of the Storm

A wise sea captain caught in a tropical storm knows that if he holds his vessel on the periphery it will get hurled from one side to the other. If he can reach the eye of the storm, he will enter a place of stillness. The storm will then subside and the ship can continue its journey.

Manage Your Thoughts Better

Going into silence enables you to manage your thoughts better. You will find there is no need to think so much, that most of the answers you are looking for will come to you, without much effort on your part.

Walk Quickly

Walk quickly today, not because you are in a hurry, but because you value the exercise for legs and heart. As you walk, allow your thoughts to visit you, but not stay. Let them come to pass, and you will be surprised how quickly they become positive, and filled with creative ideas.

Ignorance and Wisdom

Ignorance makes you believe that life happens haphazardly.

True to the Best

Real honesty means being true to the best that is within you. This is more honest than simply speaking your mind.

Truly and Permanently Happy

The secret to life's purpose is to be happy. In order to be truly and permanently happy, we have to fulfill our best intentions and act on them right away ... even if that means we start by just giving good thoughts to them.

Enjoy Everything You Do

Most of our time goes into pleasing others and making them happy. Often despite our best efforts we find that people do not appreciate what we have done. When we have tried hard to please someone we feel disheartened and upset.

The Wonder of Silence

When the soul goes deep into silence, easiness emerges. The deeper I go into silence, the greater will be my power of tolerance. It is in very deep, extreme silence that the soul becomes elevated. It is in deep, deep silence that God can come in front of the soul.

Fragrant Heart

The heart is like a flower - unless it is open it cannot release its fragrance into the world.

Shake Hands

In the moment of shaking the hand of another, not only are we participating in a universal greeting, but we are acknowledging we are all connected in the game of life together. For what is life but a series of meetings, a gentle sequence of connectings!
